Continuous Improvement at SCHMIDT GROUPE: a collective dynamic transforming the company
At Schmidt Groupe, continuous improvement is part of everyday life. Every year, employees from all business lines get involved in projects designed to simplify processes, improve working conditions, reduce resource consumption and optimise service quality.
The year 2025 marks an important milestone, with 320 Continuous Improvement projects, a level never before achieved. Behind this figure are hundreds of employees who have taken the time to observe, question their practices and propose concrete solutions to problems encountered in the field.
For twenty years, the Étoiles du Progrès awards have been recognising this dynamic. For this anniversary edition, 26 projects have been rewarded by a jury made up of representatives from different departments of the Group. The winning initiatives cover a wide range of areas: production, logistics, safety, the environment, support services and employee experience.
The results achieved demonstrate the impact of these initiatives. In 2025, the projects undertaken generated savings of over €10.5 million. They also helped to avoid the emission of 2,736 tonnes of CO₂. In terms of safety, more than 10,000 GOM points have been recorded, reflecting as many situations identified, analysed and corrected before they become accidents.
But Continuous Improvement is not just about indicators. Every improvement stems from an idea, an observation or feedback. Whether it’s a question of rethinking a workstation, reducing waste or simplifying a stage in a process, these advances are based above all on the expertise of our teams and their knowledge of the field.
This approach is fully in line with the lean culture developed by Schmidt Groupe over many years. It encourages everyone to contribute to the improvement of their working environment and to participate, in their own way, in the transformation of the company.
Twenty years after the creation of the Étoiles du Progrès, the commitment remains intact. The 2025 edition is a reminder that the most sustainable changes are often the result of simple initiatives, carried out collectively and implemented as close as possible to the realities on the ground.
