Our daily mantra
Innovate for sustainable homes
Our innovation strategy is influenced directly by our Positive Impact policy. Every innovation that we put into practice must be capable of generating a more positive impact for society, the economy and the environment. It must help scale down our carbon emissions.
Our innovations must contribute to an industry that manufactures better, longer-lasting products, while helping promote higher-quality homes and setting the sector on a path to greater responsibility.
Thinking and driving innovation
An innovation philosophy that permeates the entire company and initiatives involving every division.
We continually break new ground when it comes to product design, manufacturing processes, sales tools, customer services and the way our dealers support their customers.
We have created a structured approach for driving innovation in the years ahead based on four complementary focus areas.
Modular design, for creating units that can be transformed and adapted, with the ability to keep pace with users’ changing needs rather than becoming obsolete.
Materials, for developing and integrating bio-based, recycled and recyclable components to reduce the carbon footprint of our products without ever compromising on quality or style.
Technology, for incorporating intelligence into the design and the actual units, to create increasingly intuitive spaces, better designed projects, and a more seamless customer experience.
Services, for delivering support after the product has been sold, with solutions to accompany the customer’s home interior as the years go by.
These four focus areas are aimed at the same goal of creating more sustainable homes.
Creating more sustainable homes
Sustainable homes are not a distant promise
They are the goal that guides our innovation strategy for 2030. When it came to defining our strategy, we carried out an in-depth forward-looking study.
Our study revealed three underlying themes.
From an economic perspective, the homes of tomorrow will be energy-efficient and consume fewer resources. They will use less energy, harvest water and promote zero waste. These homes will have spaces that can be adapted according to the individual’s means and potentially without requiring any further spending, as part of a model that prioritises use over ownership.
From a social perspective, innovative homes will be inclusive, meaning that they can adapt to everyone’s needs, whether relating to their mobility, age or health. These homes can also keep pace with any changes to the family structure over time.
From an environmental perspective, Schmidt Groupe’s vision of sustainable homes will be durable, i.e. they will be capable of standing the test of time. Homes will have healthier interiors, where units are made from recyclable materials using manufacturing processes that require little energy, water or timber. Fixtures and fittings will be designed to last and evolve as needs change.
Working towards our vision
As market leaders, we have a duty that extends far beyond our four walls.
The innovative materials, processes and applications developed by our Group are designed to prove that there are other ways to design and manufacture products.
At Schmidt Groupe, innovation is much more than a way of gaining a competitive advantage. Innovation is what enables us every day to create solutions that work towards our vision.
We have earned the right to grow and we deserve to be here, because our products are designed to last and because we are continually driving our industry forward.
