La Ruche: a collective project rooted in Alsace
In Ebersheim, a new building has recently joined the Schmidt Groupe sites. Named La Ruche, this eco-designed workplace has been designed to support new ways of working together, while remaining true to the Group’s identity: its local roots and long-term commitment.
From the earliest stages of the project, the choice was made to work with local businesses. Craftsmen, design offices, construction companies, specialists in fittings and technical equipment: more than thirty partners were involved in the construction of the building.
In total, 90% of the suppliers involved are located close to the site, with an average supply distance of around 40 kilometres. This approach supports local economic activity while limiting site-related transport.
On 19 May, Schmidt Groupe brought together all the companies that had contributed to the project. This was an opportunity to look back over several months of joint work and to thank all those who contributed their expertise to the project.
La Ruche is part of the Group’s Inspiring Working Spaces initiative, designed to be in harmony with its environment. The aim is to design spaces that are adapted to today’s uses, encouraging exchanges, teamwork and quality of life on a daily basis.
Over and above the building itself, La Ruche tells the story of a way of working and building. It’s about a group that continues to invest in sustainable spaces while drawing on the skills available around it.
