Inspiration according to Schmidt Groupe

Creating beauty

Coming from a background of both engineers and manufacturers, we have always imagined and produced robust and functional products. For a long time, design and aesthetics were secondary, butthey have gradually been added to our range of skills and approaches.

Around twenty years ago, ourinternational expansion enabled us to think differently about our kitchens and furnishings. Since then, we’ve incorporated beauty into the very first stages of design and innovation, without sacrificing functionality, practicality and quality.

This is how we create beauty today, for the 200,000 unique, made-to-measure furnishingprojects we design every year.

Defining beauty

“That which arouses emotion

This is what we expect from beauty.

Beauty is not a style. It’s not a trend. At Schmidt Groupe, aesthetics will arouse an emotion. What makes you feel good when you enter a space. What makes you want to stay, to live there, to find fulfilment in every room.

And that’s our raison d’être: Inspiring living spaces . Creating beauty to do good, the home should be a place of refuge for inner well-being.

Designing beauty

Beauty is based on aesthetic codes, the fruit of a demanding and often invisible process.

Aesthetics are never a coincidence. It follows universal rules of symmetry, proportion, coherence, field and harmony.

Beauty is designed in-house, by multi-disciplinary teams. They pick up on trends, they observe markets, they analyse artistic movements, they know consumers, they pick up on and detect emerging signals.

Together with partners such as design agencies or prospecting firms, we define a vision and draw up the broad outlines of the new, unique collections that will embody our identity. Each brand, driven by its DNA and positioning, develops its own specific style.

We also work on an ad hoc basis with well-known designers and creators, most recently with Christian Lacroix and the architect Jean Porsche.

This beauty is then shaped in-house through prototype projects developed by our artistic departments.

Making it beautiful

Our photographers have a highly technical and specialised approach.

It’s vital that the visuals convey a sense of emotion and inspire our customers to place their trust in us for their projects. The visuals showcase our creations and styles through the images of our products, which our customers then find in shops, on social networks and in catalogues.

The photos define the stylistic environment of our prototypes, the light, the angle of view, the harmony to magnify the product.

Personalising beauty

With us, every project is unique.

Our sales designers redefine beauty specifically for each project.

We don’t make beautiful kitchens that you can only dream of from a catalogue or showroom.

We make personalised, made-to-measure, unique interior designs that will look good in every customer’s home.

And for each plan, each setting, beauty is created using the expertise of our sales designers, our design tools and new technologies that allow customers to project themselves into their own interiors by suggesting aesthetic improvements or decorative elements.

And thanks to digital printing, which we are the only ones to master in our sector, each project can incorporate motifs, prints and artistic visuals devised by the big names in interior design or graphic design to give even more personality to a project and make your interior unique and beautiful.

Selling sustainable beauty

Beautiful furniture does not cost more to design or manufacture.

Nor does it have a greater environmental impact. On the other hand, beauty does have an impact on a product’s durability and lifespan.

A customer who loves his kitchen, his dressing room or his hallway will never tire of it.

And at Schmidt Groupe, we’re proud when our customers neither want nor need to change their kitchen every 5 years. So we create spaces that are solid, beautiful and durable.

Because true sustainability isn’t just about recyclable materials or short supply chains. It’s about creating spaces that people want to keep.

Sustainable beauty is something you want to come back to. Not the kind that impresses once. It’s the kind that makes you feel good every day.

Lasting beauty is beauty that stays.
