Be the best, respect each other and succeed together

Our extended company

The Schmidt Groupe business model is based on 3 inseparable pillars: production sites that manufacture, a network of independent shops (dealer network) that sell and distribute, and suppliers. And they all work together in a structured co-dependency.

This is what we call the Extended Enterprise.

A unique model

We have been building this model since 1934, first with suppliers in our region and then, from the late 1970s, with the first shops, exclusive retailers, for whom we structured a network.

We were convinced that together, with respect and trust, we could develop our brand throughout France.

Today, this philosophy permeates everything we do. Because our success depends on the ability of everyone – employees, shops, suppliers – to feel like partners and to work towards a common goal.

Being better together

Our model is based on a co-dependency that is unique in our sector.

Schmidt Groupe makes bespoke furniture. Each project is made to order. This furniture is not sold directly by the group to customers. Ourdealer partnersrun independent shops that have exclusive rights to distribute the products we have designed for each of our brands.

They are the ones who meet customers, understand their projects and design their kitchens and fittings. They are the ones who turn our models into tailor-made living projects.

Unlike other sectors where the manufacturer produces a finished object that the dealer then resells, our model requiresongoing creative collaboration. Dealers are not simply resellers: they are co-creators of the final project.

And this co-dependence doesn’t stop at the shop network. Our suppliers are an integral part of this ecosystem.

  • The Euroforum

Every two years, almost 4,000 dealer partners from over 20 countries, as well as some of the Group’s internal teams, come together. It’s a unique opportunity to get together and celebrate our vision, our ambitions and the means to achieve them.

  • National Conventions

Every two years, more than 650 directors and managers, both in France and in the subsidiaries, come together for a day of collective action. Strategies, ambitions, tools, sales paths: everything is reviewed so that together we can sell better, support better and perform better.

  • The National Committee

Twice a year, the representatives of the progress groups from the different regions meet to discuss, share and co-construct the future of the network and its brands. Under the leadership of the sales department, this event enables the brands to roll out the latest innovations and new products for shops.

  • Strategic Steering Committees

This body brings together dealer partners and members of the Schmidt Groupe Management Committee. Its mission is to work together to build a forward-looking business, economic, social and environmental model. The COS (Strategic Orientation Committee) seeks to unite all players in order to achieve sustainable success.

  • The Network Operations Committee, Commissions and Progress Groups

These are local meetings – in all geographical areas – which are more regular and operational, enabling the Schmidt Group to maintain a permanent link with its network, in the service of a more efficient and sustainable business.

Training and growing together

Schmidt Groupe Academy, our internal training organisation.

Every year, 3,000 trainees come to Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines for training, a place for learning and sharing, equipped with Schmidt and Cuisinellà showrooms for real-life sales situations.

An online training platform covers all aspects of shop performance: sales, management and product knowledge.

Anchoring ourselves in the regions

The Extended Enterprise also means contributing to the dynamism of our regions.

The Extended Enterprise also means oursuppliers, whom we see as genuine partners. Our purchasing policy favours proximity: we start by buying locally, then regionally, nationally and internationally.

This commitment to the local economy permeates all our projects. It’s our way of supporting our region and our ecosystem.

This local approach is reflected throughout the network. Our 920 shops mean local jobs and entrepreneurs who are firmly rooted in their towns and regions. Many shops support local sports clubs, charities and cultural events.
